HOW I MANAGED TO DESTROY MY LIFE

by RON WEISSMANN and STEFFEN MODDROWImage

March 2011

A clown's bizarre emotional game - a shrewd and brutal exchange of blows between Ron Weissmann who, like an emotional chameleon, reflects our emotional patterns in a diverse and grotesque way, and the drummer Steffen Moddrow, who uses his instruments in a very unconventional way, in order to produce amazing sounds.

Steffen is confronted by an emotional chaotic guy who is trying to disturb his exciting sound experiments. Will the artist be able to regain peace on stage?

RON WEISSMANN was born in 1957 in Israel and is a grdaute of Tel Aviv University in Human Sciences and musicology. He was teaching music in Israel until immigrating to Berlin. His real studies on human behavior started in his work as a coach and teacher in Berlin, Stuttgart, New York and Tel-aviv where he learned about his and people´s emotions and their effects on life and relationships. In the performance "How I Managed to Destroy My Life" those emotions are brought to life.

STEFFEN MODDROW was born in 1960 in Stuttgart. He studied percussion at the conservatory in Kassel and has been teaching drums at various music schools in Germany. Since the 1990s he is developing his own musical language with different everyday materials as percussion instruments such as toys, sticky tapes or spaghetti. In 1997 he played and toured with ex-Zappa legend Jimmy Carl Black. In 2003 he received an award for the best movie sound at the film festival in Baden/Switzerland for "Fantoche".
