AUSTRALIAN GOTHIC
"Australian Gothic" examines the tension between civil liberties and national security; from Hitler?s 1933 Enabling Act to the recent introduction of new national security laws in Australia. The play juxtaposes the operations of the Stasi in Post World War Two with the recent broadening of ASIO?S power in a contemporary Orwellian Australia. This play is the fable of tyranny masquerading as protection
